Commissioned by Smoking Pony as part of Hyundai's Life With Hyundai campaign, RJDM created a heartfelt 2D animated film exploring the relationship between a family and their Hyundai vehicle across multiple generations. The animation used storytelling and emotion to position the car not simply as a product, but as a companion through life's most important moments.

Where it made a difference

The animation showcased the power of storytelling in brand communication. Rather than focusing on the vehicle itself, the campaign focused on the people behind the wheel and the memories created along the way. By connecting Hyundai with family, aspiration, loyalty and generational relationships, the film helped build a lasting emotional connection between the brand and its audience.

What we helped solve

Hyundai wanted to communicate something deeper than features, specifications or performance. The challenge was to create an emotional connection with audiences by demonstrating how a vehicle can become woven into family life, supporting people through milestones, challenges and memorable experiences over many years.

What we delivered

RJDM produced a beautifully crafted 2D animation that followed the journey of a young boy inspired by Hyundai, through adulthood, marriage, parenthood and later life. The film combined character animation, visual storytelling and emotional narrative to create a touching story that resonated with audiences of all ages. Every scene was designed to reinforce the role Hyundai played throughout the family's evolving journey.
